John 11
25 Yahusha said to her, "I AM the Resurrection and the Life! Whoever puts his trust in me will live, even if he dies.
What was Yahusha saying in this passage?
He was saying, “Put your trust in Me.”
But why did He say, “put your trust in “Me”?
Who is the “Me” that Yahusha is referring to?
The “Me” that Yahusha is referring to, is “YHWH's Law Made Flesh”.
John 1:14
The Word (Law) became flesh and dwelt among us. And we saw His glory full of Grace and Truth!
This is because Yahusha indeed OBEYED YHWH'S LAW!
Thus he was "The Righteous Branch"!
Jeremiah 33
15 When those days come, at that time, I will cause to spring up for David a Branch of Righteousness. He will do what is just and right in the land.
What made Yahusha Righteous?
Answer:
He didn't follow His own Heart, but rather He followed YHWH's Law!
John 5
30 I can't do a thing on my own. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is right; because I don't seek my own desire, but the desire of the one who sent me.
And here is the Heart/ Character of YHWH's Torah:
Psalms 119
142 Your righteousness is eternal righteousness, and your Torah is truth.
So the charactor of YHWH is: Righteousness, Torah and Truth!
Indeed, these things are He is! They are His very Heart and Soul!
And each of these things upholds the other! You can't have one without the others!
You see, the truth is that throughout all the universe there is only:
Righteousness and evil.
Nothing else.
You are either obeying His Law or you're not.
It's as simple as that!
It's black and white.
It's only complicated because we make it complicated.
So you now know that when Yahusha say’s “Put your trust in Me”
It means:
" I (Yahusha) am obeying YHWH's Torah. So by putting your trust in what I am doing (obeying YHWH's Law), you are really putting your trust in YHWH."
John 14
1 "Don't let yourselves be disturbed. Trust in YHWH and trust in me."
and so the message is this:
“Trust in the Righteousness of YHWH (by obeying His Law)."
Because we know that:
Psalms 119
142 Your righteousness is eternal righteousness, and Your Torah is truth.
Again: What is Truth?
Answer: Your Torah!
And Yahusha said:
Matthew 4:4
... The Scriptures say, `Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of YHWH'
Wait, which words?
EVERY SINGLE word that comes from the mouth of YHWH!
So I ask you: What words came from the mouth of YHWH?
The answer:
EVERY SINGLE LAW that is written in the Bible came from the mouth of YHWH! (And by obeying EVERY ONE of them, we prove our trust in YHWH!)
James 2
24 You see that a person is declared righteous because of actions and not because of faith alone.
So where does Yahusha fit into this?
Well, This is what he did!
He obeyed EVERY WORD, EVERY LAW OF YHWH!
Didn't he (Yahusha) obey YHWH's Law to perfection?
Wasn't he perfect?
So then FOLLOW HIM!!!
He is a Living example of Righteousness!
And we know that:
Proverbs 12
28 The road of righteousness is life; no death is in its pathway.
So now you can clearly see that Yahusha followed YHWH, His every word and Law! And YHWH can be summed up in one word: Righteousness!
Psalms 89
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; grace and truth attend you.
Psalms 11
7 For YHWH is righteous; he loves righteousness; the upright will see his face.
Yahusha was anointed with Father YHWH’s own Spirit, His own Heart and Attitude and thus he obeyed His Law!
This is why Yahusha could say:
John 10
30 "I and the Father are one."
John 14
10 Don't you believe that I am united with the Father, and the Father united with me? What I am telling you, I am not saying on my own initiative; the Father living in me is doing his own works. 11 Trust me, that I am united with the Father, and the Father united with me.
Trusting YHWH is obeying YHWH Law! You can't have one without the other!
James 2
17 faith by itself, unaccompanied by actions, is dead.
And here we see Yahusha putting Scripture into practice!
In fact every miricle that Yahusha ever did happened because he believed Proverbs 3:5!
Proverbs 3
5 Trust in YHWH with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding.
And trusting in YHWH instead of relying on his "own understanding" means trusting in YHWH's Law!
When you obey YHWH, then you will be considered righteous. And the righteous have dominion over all the earth! This is how Yahusha could do miricles!
You see, Yahusha never took credit for any miricle! He humbly gave credit to YHWH!
John 12
44 Yahusha declared publicly, "Those who put their trust in me are trusting not merely in me, but in the One who sent me.
And after He gave the credit to YHWH, he told others to do the same!
John 14
1 "Don't let yourselves be disturbed. Trust in YHWH and trust in me."
Trust in who?
1. YHWH
and.......
2. Me (Yahusha)
Why?
Because it's just like a railroad train; You cannot follow the second car without following the one in front of it! The two cars are on the same track! They're going the same place! By following Yahusha, you will naturally be following what Yahusha also followed! Yahusha followed EVERY WORD THAT CAME FROM THE MOUTH OF YHWH. He followed YHWH's Law!
My friends, YHWH is Righteousness, and Yahusha trusts in YHWH rather than himself!
And what does trusting in YHWH's Righteousness do for Yahusha?
Proverbs 13
6 Righteousness protects him whose way is honest, but wickedness brings down the sinner.
Now check this out people
Anyone who rejects his own understanding (feelings), and instead lives according to Father YHWH Law, is also One with Him!
1John 2
29 If you know that YHWH is righteous, you should also know that he is the Father of everyone who does what is right.
Proverbs 15
9 YHWH detests the way of the wicked but loves anyone who pursues righteousness.
So when we reject our own understandings and instead live by (every word of) YHWH's Law:
Isaiah 26
3 A person whose desire rests on You, You preserve in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.
Romans 15
13 May YHWH, the source of hope, fill you completely with joy and peace as you continue trusting, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may overflow with hope.
What an amazing Scripture!
It says"
1. YHWH is your source of Hope.
2. YHWH will fill you with Joy and Peace according to your Trust!
Wait, what trust again?
Trusting in EVERY WORD THAT COMES FROM YHWH's MOUTH! (and we know that trust without obedience is dead)!
3. The power of His Spirit causes you to "Overflow with Hope"!
WOW! That is awesome!
It is important to note that:
Obeying Torah is useless if it is not coming from a humble heart!
Let me repeat and re-phrase:
Your Torah observance is useless if you are doing it for self-centered reasons (ie. you like the attention)!
Galatians 2
16 we have come to realize that a person is not declared righteous by YHWH on the ground of his legalistic observance of Torah commands, but through the Messiah Yahusha's trusting faithfulness.
In other words, if you are obeying Torah just because you "have to obey this stupid stuff" else you will get "sent to hell", then your not really obeying Torah. Your heart is far from YHWH's Torah!
Or if you are obeying Torah for your own self-righteous power trip, much like the pharisees did, then your heart is wrong. You are not "loving YHWH with all your heart and soul and mind!" Again, your heart is far from YHWH's Torah! (Besides, the pharisees broke Torah by adding and subtracting their own laws to it!) Matthew 15:1-9
But if you have the "Trusting Faithfulness of Yahusha the Messiah", then you are truly loving YHWH with a zelous and jealous love! Just as Yahusha did! This is the kind of love that YHWH wants! A heart that longs to please YHWH, not yourself! You are willing to die for Him because you love Him SO much! This my friends, is the "trusting faithfulness" that Yahusha the Messiah had!
Indeed, He trusted in YHWH with an unwavering and humble trust- even unto death!
He said:
John 5
30 I can't do a thing on my own. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is right; because I don't seek my own desire, but the desire of the one who sent me.
So in saying such he was proving that he believed in Proverbs 3:5!
Proverbs 3
5 Trust in YHWH with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding.
Indeed, yahusha loved, respected and trusted in YHWH even when it was difficult!
Matthew 26
39 Going on a little farther, he fell on his face, praying, "My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from me! Yet -- not what I want, but what you want!"
Matthew 26
42 A second time he went off and prayed. "My Father, if this cup cannot pass away unless I drink it, let what you want be done."
Indeed, the road is narrow!
My friends, we know that:
Jeremiah 17
9 "The heart is more deceitful than anything else and mortally sick. Who can fathom it?
In other words our hearts lie to us, trying to convince us that we need not obey the Laws of YHWH!
Romans 7
14 For we know that the Torah is of the Spirit; but as for me, I am bound to the old nature (heart), sold to sin as a slave.
So my friends, the next time you hear someone tell you to “just listen to your heart”, you can be sure that you are being giving wrong counsel. Trusting and/or acting on your own “feelings” is deadly!
Friends, we must execute our own understanding and feelings (hearts) and replace them with YHWH's Heart by obeying His Laws!
John 4
23 But the time is coming -- indeed, it's here now -- when the true worshippers will worship the Father spiritually and truly, for these are the kind of people the Father wants worshipping him.
Stop following your "feelings"! They are leading you to death!
Friends listen,
When Eve sinned, she was following the desires of her heart (feelings)!
Genesis 3
6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it had a pleasing appearance and that the tree was desirable for making one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her; and he ate.
So here we see that Eve saw the fruit as “desirable”.
And when we chase our own desires instead of YHWH’s Laws, guess what happens:
Proverbs 18
1 He who separates himself indulges his desires and shows contempt for sound advice of any kind.
Yes indeed, it is when we chase our “feelings”, and chase our evil heart rather than YHWH's Spirit of Righteousness (YHWH’s Laws) that we will find ourselves in all kinds of trouble!
1 Peter 2
11 Dear friends, I urge you as aliens and temporary residents not to give in to the desires of your flesh (heart), which keep warring against you.
James 4
1 What is causing all the quarrels and fights among you? Isn't it your desires battling inside you?
Friends, we must follow YHWH's Laws!
YHWH’s Law is Righteousness!
Psalms 19
7 The Torah of YHWH is perfect, restoring the inner person. The instruction of YHWH is sure, making wise the thoughtless. 8 The precepts of YHWH are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandments of YHWH are pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of YHWH is clean, enduring forever. The rulings of YHWH are true, they are righteous altogether, 10 more desirable than gold, than much fine gold, also sweeter than honey or drippings from the honeycomb.
My friends, Yahusha had this attitude and heart!
When Yahusha said “Trust in Me”, He meant, "Don't trust in your own heart! Trust in YHWH’s Perfect Law and character, because it is altogether righteous and it will lead you to life, just as it leads me (Yahusha)!"
Again, when Yahusha healed the blind men, you will note that He asks a very important question:
Do you trust in Me?
What Yahusha is truly asking is:
“Do you trust that the Righteousness that I follow will empower me to overcome this evil?”
Let’s read:
Matthew 9
27 As Yahusha went on from there, two blind men began following him, shouting, "Son of David! Take pity on us!" 28 When he entered the house, the blind men came up, and Yahusha said to them, "Do you trust that I have the power to do this?" They replied, "Yes, sir." 29 Then he touched their eyes and said, "Let it happen to you according to your trust"; 30 and their sight was restored.
This is a truly amazing Scripture!
Yahusha is saying:
“Do you believe that the Power of Righteousness that I receive by obeying EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF YHWH can do this?"
"Do you believe that, because I do not act on My own desires, but rather I obey YHWH, that this Righteous obedience can and will conquer all evil?”
Again:
Where did Yahusha get this power?
He followed YHWH’s Law, YHWH's Heart/ Righteousness instead of His own!
John 5
19 …….Yahusha said this to them: "Yes, indeed! I tell you that the Son cannot do anything on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing; whatever the Father does, the Son does too.
Proverbs 3
5 Trust in YHWH with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding.
John 5
30 I can't do a thing on my own. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is right; because I don't seek my own desire, but the desire of the one who sent me.
So Yahusha followed YHWH's Law, which we know is perfectly righteous!
And we know that:
Proverbs 11
19 Genuine righteousness leads to life, but the pursuer of evil goes to his own death.
My friends, do you want to hear YHWH's voice and know His will?
THEN START TRUSTING!
Give up your own heart/ desires and live according to His Law (so that you can hear)!
Do you want to do miracles like Yahusha did?
THEN START TRUSTING!
Execute your own feelings/ heart and instead live by the Law of YHWH (so that your actions will be Righteous)!
My friends, we should know that:
RIGHTEOUSNESS CONQUERS ALL EVIL!
1 John 5
4 Everything which has YHWH as its Father overcomes the world. And this is what victoriously overcomes the world: Our Trust.
Matthew 21
21 Yahusha answered them, "Yes! I tell you, if you have trust and don't doubt, you will not only do what was done to this fig tree; but even if you say to this mountain, `Go and throw yourself into the sea!' it will be done.
In other words:
Galatians 5
16 What I am saying is this: run your lives by the Spirit (of YHWH). Then you will not do what your old nature (heart) wants. 17 For the old nature (heart) wants what is contrary to the Spirit (of YHWH), and the Spirit (of YHWH) wants what is contrary to the old nature (heart). These oppose each other, so that you find yourselves unable to carry out your good intentions.
So:
Let us stop chasing your own "feelings" and start following YHWH's way of Righteousness; His Laws!
Luke 9
23 Then to everyone he said, "If anyone wants to come after me, let him say `No' to himself, take up his execution-stake daily and keep following me.
Friends listen to the Voice of Righteousness:
John 1
37 "If I am not doing deeds that reflect my Father's power, don't trust me. 38 but if I am, then, even if you don't trust me, trust the deeds; so that you may understand once and for all that the Father is united with me, and I am united with the Father."
In other words:
If my deeds are "Deeds of Righteousness", then why do you deny Righteousness?
My friends,
Yahusha was not telling us to trust in a person, but rather to
Trust in the power of YHWH's Righteousness, just as He (Yahusha) did! This is why He said: Follow me.
And so I urge you, my dear friends and brothers, follow Yahusha by Putting your trust in EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF YHWH!
Shalom to you all my friends!
Barabba
